CLOSE BUT NOT CLOSE ENOUGH
GRANDIVA had her first run this preparation at Ipswich over 1025m and just failed by a short head, short head to claim first prize, finishing 3rd. Slowly away, Grandiva was giving the leaders 5 lengths on the corner and really flew the last 50m to be denied.
GRANDE ATTACK finished 3rd at Kembla Grange, just weakening on her run to the line over the last 100m. She went from there to Canterbury on the 12 February over 1550m but failed to handle the tight circuit. She will go to the Kensington track on Friday, 26 February for her next start.
MISS SEER has gone to the paddock following her second poor performance in a row, confirming our suspicions that the heat at Gunnedah the previous run, had taken its toll. She will have a 4 week break.
RACE WITH PETER MOODY
We have joined forces with PETER MOODY (Caulfield) and will race the ½ brother to our AJC OAKS winner in 2007, RENA’S LADY. From our foundation mare, BOISTEROUS LADY, by RESET, Peter bought the colt at the NZ Premier Sale. A well grown, strong colt, he is the best looking foal the mare has thrown and we are delighted to be able to race the colt we bred, before selling the mare in foal. FOR DETAILS call me on (0407) 948483 or forward an email to me on gsm08619@bigpond.net.au and I will post out all information.

UPDATE - YARRAMAN WINE AND RACING SYNDICATE
BARN BUSTER had his first race start at Terang, following 2 good jump outs at Camperdown and Warrnambool. Jumping well from gate 5, Barn Buster settled midfield before suffering interference as they turned for home, and was forced to switch of heels of runners as the jockey searched for clear running. Over 1200m, which was always going to be too short for him, he got to the line strongly to run 6th. He will go to Ballarat on Thursday, 25 February in a 1400m Super Vobis Maiden.
HELL RAISER BOY went to Tamworth on Monday 1 February, over the 1600m and produced a tidy effort to run 3rd. In the unlikely position of pacemaker, Hell Raiser Boy boxed on well, despite running about in the straight. Trainer, Geff O’Brien, now plans to take him to Newcastle over 1850m on Saturday, 20 February. The ARENA-CALICHE filly has commenced pre training and we should see her in trainer Geoff O’Brien’s Quirindi stables mid to late March.
All members of the Syndicate receive a COMPLIMENTARY 2 pack of YARRAMAN ESTATE wines on joining, a COMPLIMENTARY case of wine in August, 2010 and a further COMPLIMENTARY case every 6 months, for the life of the Syndicate. STABLE TALK
MUSICAL LADYhas commenced pacework at Rosehill with Gerald Ryan and taking it all in her stride. Gerald plans to give her a break shortly as she is a staying filly, by Carnegie, and we have no plans to run her as a 2yo.
KARINO is coming to hand nicely at Murwillumbah and is due to have a jumpout early next week in readiness for a return to racing.
TECH’S GEM has arrived at the Rosehill stables of Greg MacFarlane, following a jumpout by the pre trainer, at Warwick Farm. She has pleased the pre trainer and, whilst we would like to get her to a trial, I don’t think that will happen as she is showing signs of coming to the end of this preparation.
STRATANCE has also arrived at the Rosehill stables of David Payne, having thrived at Limitless Lodge. An Inglis graduate, she should be ready to race at the Scone Carnival, in the 2yo Bonus Race Series over 1200m.
GRETA’S ROSE has arrived at Geoff O’Brien stables after a 6 week break. She is enjoying being back in work and has taken to the quieter surroundings than Rosehill where she was previously prepared.
GRAND LADY will return to trackwork in the beginning of March following a good break. She has really appreciated the break and has put on a lot of condition.
QUEEN ASA has commenced pre training and Michael Kent is happy with her progress. He hopes to have her back in the main stable late March.
ZEDLION trialled nicely on 2 occasions at Rosehill for Gerald Ryan, before going shin sore on the eve of his first race start. He has gone to the paddock and whilst there, has suffered the unkindest cut of all.
